The power of words

God gave the words of judgment to the serpent (devil), Adam and Eve. First He told the devil. It is written in the Bible like this.

¹⁴So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. ¹⁵And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:14.15)

It is called the original Gospel. Jesus is prophesied to be born as a descendant of a woman. It is here that God declares that a woman is Eve and that Jesus is born as a descendant of Eve, that is, as a son of man. This was fulfilled at Christmas.

The original gospel is the first gospel (good news), implying the cross and resurrection of the Savior Jesus. The devil did damage by crucifying Jesus and bit him on his heels, but Jesus trampled his head through the cross and the resurrection. The Son of God (Jesus Christ) appeared to destroy the work of the Devil (1 John 3: 8).

It is a painting in which the angel Michael is defeating the devil.

Even if the snake’s head is crushed, it survives for a while. When I went on a missionary trip to Papua New Guinea, I remember a chicken whose head had been ripped off for eating, fluttering around for a while and alive. But after suffering for a while and running around, it was exhausted and died. The death of the devil is similar, it’s only a matter of time. And the devil who misled them was thrown into a pond of fire and sulfur. There are beasts and false prophets, who suffer forever day and night (Revelation 20:10). The fate of the devil is fixed. His defeat is confirmed. The devil is now just running around, suffering from fluttering.

Jesus recognized the devil as a reality and hated it. Why? Because the devil is working hard to destroy humans and take them to the Fire Pond (Hell), which has the same fate as himself. Everyone who was not named in the Book of Life was thrown into this pond of fire(Revelation 20:15). When we believe in Jesus, our name is written in the Book of Life.

We want to be the same haters of the devil as Jesus. Jesus said.¹⁸ “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. ¹⁹I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. ²⁰However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10: 18-20)

The authority to cast out evil spirits is given to Christians as a sign of evangelization. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. ¹⁶Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. ¹⁷And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; ¹⁸they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16: 15-18)

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. (Romans 16:20). I believe this is what the end times, the modern church, will experience. Our feet crush Satan (the devil).
