Covenant with God Covenant of Noah Genesis 8: 1-5 (Bible)

The ark would have been really hard to shake due to the Flood. The various storms of this world can shake our lives and our hearts. However, God kept in mind Noah and his family in the ark (verse 1).

8 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. ² Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. ³ The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, ⁴ and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. ⁵ The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible. (Genesis 8: 1-5)

God remembered Noah and his family. God had a special care in them. It’s because of the covenant with Noah. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.(Genesis 6:18, 19). Everything with Noah and him was kept because of the covenant with God. God cherishes the covenant and acts by the covenant.

The same was true when Israel was rescued from Egyptian oppression.  The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.(Exodus 2: 23-25). God delivered the Israelites from Egypt because of the covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The last salvation of the Israelites is also due to the covenant with God.  I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:

“The deliverer will come from Zion;
    he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
And this is my covenant with them
    when I take away their sins.”

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.　(Romans 11: 25-29).

We also made a new covenant through Jesus. Jesus said to his disciples. ” This cup is a new covenant of my blood shed for you. ” (Luke 22:20) Because of this covenant God keeps us in mind and gives us special protection. The Israelites were protected by the blood of the lamb. We too are protected because of the new covenant of the blood of Jesus Christ, who is the Lamb of God and crucified. It is very important to pray, “Protect me and my family with the blood of Jesus.”

When God blew too much wind over the earth, the water began to draw. When God blew too much wind over the earth, the water began to draw (verse 1). The word wind is the same as “spirit” in the original language. It can be seen that the Holy Spirit worked like the wind and repelled the water as a judgment. It is the work of God’s recovery. It was also seen in Genesis 1: 2. The earth was vague and nothing. The darkness was above the water, and the spirit of God was moving over the water. The work of recovery was begun in a world where the Holy Spirit was covered in darkness. The Holy Spirit also works in our lives and gives us recovery.

May the wind of the Holy Spirit blow. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2: 2-4)

The heavenly locks were closed, heavy rains stopped, and water began to drain. Water began to diminish after 150 days, and the ark stayed on Mount Ararat on July 17. Water continued to diminish, and on October 1st the peaks of the mountains appeared (verse 2-5).

We are the covenant people who have made the new covenant with God through Jesus Christ. Therefore, God never forgets us, and remembers us and keeps us in mind.
