Christmas from darkness to light

The power of words

BY CANAAN

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified (Bible NIV Luke 2: 8, 9).

Now Christmas is a big celebration all over the world, but the first Christmas in the world was quietly celebrated. Only the shepherds participated in the celebration. The shepherds watched the flock of sheep while watching the night shift in the field. (Luke 2: 8). It would have been dark at night. Shepherds seemed to be a poor profession at that time. So their lives were also dark.

An angel sent by God came to the shepherds. The glory of the Lord, the dazzling light, illuminated (Luke 2: 9). The light has just taken away the darkness. The angel conveys a message to them. ” Don’t be afraid. Now I have come to inform you of the wonderful joy for this whole people. Today in the city of David, a Savior was born for you. He is the one. It is the Lord Christ. ”(Luke 2: 10,11)

The shepherds who heard the story of the angel said after the discussion. ” Now let’s go to Bethlehem and see this event that the Lord has informed us ” (Luke 2:15).

It seems that the shepherds had knowledge of the Bible & history. The city of David was the city where King David, who built the golden age of Israel, was born, and was Bethlehem. And not only that knowledge, they had the ability to put that knowledge to good use quickly. Bethlehem is not a big town, but at this time there was a census and the town was crowded (Luke 2: 1-7). Finding a newborn baby in such a situation would not have been easy.

Today there is a lot of information. Finding the right information in it is never easy. We will be confused if we are not careful. I think one of the most necessary forces today is insight into what is happening in the world today.

It is important to eagerly seek the truth. If the shepherds had given up searching along the way, they would not have been able to meet the Savior. The angel gave them hints on how to search. It said, ” You will find a green that is wrapped in a cloth and sleeping in a manger. This is a sign for you. ” (Luke 2:12)

The shepherds did not interpret the word from the angel sent by God, that is, the word of God. I think I could have thought, “Is it possible that the Savior was born in a manger? That’s stupid.” It was not strange to think, “If He is the Savior, He will be born in the royal palace, or in a wonderful first-class hotel.” However, they did not apply their ideals to the Savior, but instead relied on the words of the angels to search. Finally, they were able to find Mary, the mother of Jesus, Joseph, the father, and the green Jesus sleeping in the manger (Luke 2:16).

Even if you don’t understand everything, it’s important not to give up and continue to search enthusiastically. Then you should be able to find Jesus. And if you trust the Bible, the Word of God, you can reach Jesus.

The shepherds went home, worshiping and praising God, because everything they saw and heard was exactly what the angel said (Luke 2:20). How joyful the shepherds were! They were able to experience the truth of God’s Word. They were able to meet the Savior Jesus and enjoy the privilege of celebrating the first Christmas in the world. I think they continued to live in poverty after returning. However, They lived with hope even in pain. Because They were able to meet the Savior Jesus. There life was moved from darkness to light.

Even if the world is dark, and even if our hearts are dark in the face of various worries and difficulties, the light is still shining from heaven. Jesus is light. Through Jesus the Savior, we can move from darkness to light! I believe that welcoming Jesus will brighten our hearts and brighten our lives.

This person (Jesus) had life. This life was the light of man. The light is shining in the darkness. Darkness did not overcome this (John 1: 4, 5).

I used to be a pastor in the metropolitan area for 10 years, but now I am a pastor at a local Christian church. I also run a travel agency and an agricultural cooperative. I myself have been empowered by various words, and I would like to convey hopeful words.
