Banishment from the Garden of Eden

The power of words

22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.  (Genesis 3: 22-24)

God has previously used the plural “us”. ” Let’s make a man in our image, imitate us. ” (Genesis 1:26) God is the only one, but it shows that he is the God of the Trinity. That is, God the Father, God the Son, Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.

God expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. It is because of God’s love and consideration that the two who became sinners by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil that God forbidden should not live forever with sin by eating from the tree of life. (Verse 22). Living forever with sin is hopeless and frightening. To avoid that danger, God expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden (verse 23).

One of the greatest masterpieces in British literature history, “Paradise Lost” was written by John Milton in 1667 when Satan tempted him in the Garden of Eden, the fall of man, and his expulsion from the Garden of Eden. It is an epic written with the theme of. In the last 12 volumes, the angel Michael tells Adam “Banishment from Paradise”. However, Michael also tells Adam the comfort of God. The punishment that Adam and his descendants should have received on the cross was received by Jesus Christ, who died, and after resurrection, ascended to heaven and knew that her descendants would be saved. In 1671, John Milton published the epic “Paradise Regained,” in which Christ recovers what Adam lost in paradise.

To the east of the Garden of Eden, a cherubim (angel) and a sword of fire (the glory of God) were placed in a circle so that they could not come to the tree of life (verse 24). Hezekiah prayed to the Lord. “The God of Israel sitting on the cherubim, Lord of hosts. But you are the God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth. (Isaiah 37:15-16)

The Millennial Kingdom and Heaven have the restored appearance of the Garden of Eden. 1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.  (Revelation 22: 1-5)

After sinning, Adam and Eve avoided the face of God. So man and his wife hid among the trees in the garden, avoiding the face of the Lord God(Genesis 3: 8). But in the last book of the Bible, the Revelation, people look up to the face of God. What’s the difference?
