” I’m going! I’m going to throw the ring to Mordor! I don’t know the way” (“Lord of the Rings” / the fellowship of the ring Frodo’s words)

“The Lord of the Rings is a masterpiece of British writer JRR Tolkien. Tolkien is a Catholic and I think the story contains gospel content.

The movie was a big hit. When I was studying abroad in New Zealand to study the Bible, the movie “The Lord of the Rings” was showing there. All filming locations were in New Zealand, and director Peter Jackson is New Zealander.

The content of the story is detailed and magnificent. Sauron is looking for a ring that will allow him to rule Middle-earth. This ring has tremendous power of darkness, and is engraved on the ring like this. “One ring dominates all rings. One ring finds everything, captures everything, and keeps it in the dark.” Sauron puts out his minions to find the ring.

Frodo, a Hobbit tribe (a race of gentle dwarfs) who inherited the ring from his uncle, is involved in the struggle for world domination. Following the advice of the wizard Gandalf, Frodo leaves the house with a ring and escapes outside the Hobbit villa. Frodo’s journey will be accompanied by the same dwarf Hobbit friends Sam, Pippin and Mary. Along the way, with the help of Aragorn (a friend of Gandalf), a descendant of the human king who once defeated Sauron, he managed to reach Rivendell.

Elrond, who governs the elf-dwelling Rivendell, held a meeting with representatives of elves, dwarves, and humans to consider what to do with the ring. Elrond of elf says that only Sauron can manipulate the ring, so there is no other way but to destroy it. In order to destroy the ring, someone have to go to the crater of Mordor’s volcano, Mountain of Destruction to throw it away and melt it. Who will go? Who will challenge such an impossible mission? .”

While everyone is discussing, Frodo says, ” I’m going! I’m going to throw the ring into Mordor! I don’t know the way .” This is the same as the course of faith. Abraham went out without knowing the way to go. When Gandalf announces that he will follow, Aragorn says, “No matter what my life may be, I will protect you. I promise. I will put it on my sword.” Legolas swears “on the bow” and Gimli swears “on the axe”.

That way Frodo departs with eight companions. On the way, they stop at the dwarven country and the elf country.

Frodo begins to realize that the ring has a negative effect on his companions. I think the ring symbolizes sin. One of the companions who lost the magical power of the ring, Boromiya tried to steal the ring from Frodo, but Frodo escaped. The enemy appears there. Boromiya was killed and Pippin and Mary were captured.

Frodo and Sam are determined to leave secretly for Mordor. Aragorn (human), Legolas (elf), and Gimli (dwarf) go to help Pippin and Mary. “Fellowship of the Ring” is separated and divided into three directions. And the story continue to the second part.
