The power of words

Before the fall, the woman was called “Isha” (2:23), where Adam named her wife Eve. Eve has the meaning of “life.” Made of earth dust, Adam was breathed into his nose and became a “living person” (2: 7), but he sinned and became a “dead person.” Therefore, I think that Adam wanted to restore his original life and become a living person, so named his wife Eve. The Bible says:

20 Now man called his wife Eve. Because she was the mother of all living things. 21 The Lord God made and put on leather garments for Adam and his wife. (Genesis 3: 20,21)

God said, ” I am hostile between you and the woman, and between your descendants and the girl’s grandchildren. He crushes your head and you bite on his heels(3:15). ” Adam believed, though vaguely, the promised words spoken by God. This can be seen by giving Eve a name that means “life,” even though she hasn’t given birth yet. He probably named Eve with the hope that he would seek recovery from his “grandchildren” and that his wife would become the “mother of all living things.”

In response to Adam’s faith, God made leather garments and put them on (verse 21). God killed the beast (probably a sheep), shed its blood to make a garment of skin, and instead of the fig leaf (3: 7) they had prepared and wore, the skin He put on their clothes. One cannot stand before God with what humans make themselves, that is, with human efforts like fig leaves. Sinners must be punished for themselves or for someone else to punish their sins. Adam and Eve, who broke God’s command, became “must die.” So God killed the beast and shed blood instead of Adam and Eve, and put on a garment made of the beast’s skin. The batter of the skin would have had animal blood on it. It was said that you would die, but it was animals, not humans, who died. That was the death of a substitute.

Here is the mystery of Jesus’ cross. So, according to the law, it can be said that everything is cleansed by blood. Also, if you do not pour out blood, you will not be forgiven of your sins. (Hebrews 9:22) John the Baptist saw Jesus and said: ” Behold the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world. ” (John 1:29) Jesus hung on the cross as the Lamb of God and shed blood and died in place of our sins. .. This is the gospel (good news). There is no forgiveness of sins without pouring blood. Jesus shed blood on the cross instead for our salvation. Therefore, we are given life, not death.

As you know, what you have redeemed from the vain way of life of your ancestors is the precious blood of Christ, like a lamb, unblemished and unclean, not by decaying things like silver and gold. It was due to blood. (1 Peter 1: 18,19)

Then I saw. Look. Countless crowds of all nations, tribes, ethnic groups, and national languages, dressed in white, holding palm branches in their hands, in front of the throne and the lamb. was standing. They shouted out. “Salvation is in our God in the throne, in the lamb.” (Revelation 7: 9,10)

The blood of the first sacrifice was shed as a model of Jesus’ cross. Instead of fig leaves, a garment of leather was prepared by God himself. Human-made clothing (idea, philosophy, religion, etc.) will not be accepted by God. It is very important that God has prepared it. It is the innocent Jesus Christ that God has prepared for mankind. No matter how hard one tries, his deeds are imperfect and he cannot reach God. That is why God sent the perfect Jesus Christ for man. When we wear this Christ (when we believe), our sins will be forgiven and we will be able to stand before God.
