Enoch who walked with God

The genealogy repeatedly states, “Thus he died,” depicting the fate of man as a descendant of Adam (5: 5,8,11,14,17,20,27). , 30). However, here comes Enoch, who has not experienced death.

By faith, Enoch was moved so that he would not see death. It was moved to God and disappeared. Before he was transferred, he was witnessed that he was pleased with God. (Hebrews 11: 5)

There is another exceptional person in the Old Testament who was transferred to heaven without experiencing death. It’s Elijah. Thus, as they continued to speak, a tank of fire and a horse of fire appeared, separating them, and Elijah went up to heaven on a sword. .. (2 Kings 2:11)

Enoch and Elijah are the models of the rapture of the church that occur when the Lord Jesus returns in the air. The Lord himself comes down from heaven in the command, the voice of the angel, and the sound of God’s trumpet. Then the dead in Christ will rise first, and then the surviving us will be immediately lifted up with them into the clouds and meet the Lord in the air. In this way, we will be with the Lord forever. (I Thessalonians 4:16, 17)

Enoch walked so close to God that he was moved to heaven, but he didn’t walk with God until he was 65 years old. What was the turning point? That is the birth of Methuselah. Methuselah is a prophetic name that means “when he dies, it (judgment) will be sent.” With that as a turning point, Enoch was transformed into a life of walking with God. He also began prophetic activity.

Enoch, the seventh generation from Adam, also prophesied about them and said: “Behold, the Lord will bring in ten million saints. Judgment on all, all the acts of ungodly ones who did not fear God, and sinners who did not fear God. To condemn them for all the rudeness that they have opposed to the Lord. “ (Judas 14,15)

Walking with God is not something we can’t do without going somewhere far away. We can do it in our daily life. Enoch had a wife and children, and lived in an era of hostility to God, who was facing the flood as God’s judgment, so it is easy to imagine that he was in a difficult environment to walk with God. But Enoch chose to walk with God.

At that time, society lived together under a large family system. Adam, who lived until the age of 930, was still alive at the age of 622 when Enoch was born. Adam died when Enoch was 308 years old. Born as a descendant of Adam, this family has many sins and problems, and I think Enoch really had a hard time.

I think we also have various problems where we are and where we are sent, but let’s choose to walk with God ourselves, aside from others.
