“I came here tonight to let you know that you still have the chance and hope to escape your destiny.” (Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol”)
“A Christmas Carol” by British writer Charles Dickens is very famous as a book to be read at Christmas.
On the eve of Christmas, the day of Christmas Eve, the main character Scrooge was busy working. The ghost of his partner Murray, who died seven years ago, appeared in front of him. He tells Scrooge that three ghosts will come after this.
The first ghost has come. He was a ghost of the past. It is said to be the ghost of the past of the main character Scrooge. It shows his past and reminds him of his dreamy boyhood, his youth with a pure heart before he was greedy for money.
Next came his current ghost. He can see the reality now. And the last one to come is the ghost of the future. Scrooge hears that a very infamous man has died, but he will not be there for Christmas in the future. Scrooge finds his name on the inscription on the tombstone in the desolate graveyard and is shocked. With the dawn of Christmas, he learns that the nightmarish future he has experienced can still be changed. And it is a story of converting and spending the remaining time meaningfully.
This story reminds us of the story of Jesus in the Bible (Luke 16: 19-31). The rich man who has gone to hell (Hades) asks Abraham to send Lazarus in heaven to them so that his brothers do not come to such a place of suffering.
It is written in the Bible like this. The reward that comes from sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life in our Lord Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:23)
We too can change where we go to the future through Jesus Christ. Transferred from death to life. God has sent Jesus Christ to change our future. That is the true meaning of Christmas.

I used to be a pastor in the metropolitan area for 10 years, but now I am a pastor at a local Christian church. I also run a travel agency and an agricultural cooperative. I myself have been empowered by various words, and I would like to convey hopeful words.
