Punishment of sin

The power of words

God spoke the word of judgment to the devil (Genesis 3: 14,15) and then said to Eve. That is, the woman suffered and had to give birth. It is written in the Bible like this.

¹⁶To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” ¹⁷To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. ¹⁸It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. ¹⁹By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3: 16-19)

Having a child is a blessing of God. God said before humans fell. ” Birth. Grow. Fill the earth.” (Genesis 1:28) Before the fall, painless childbirth was considered, but after the fall it became painful. But childbirth is a blessing. Jesus said. When a woman gives birth, she suffers because the time has come. However, when one gives birth, one person no longer forgets the intense pain because of the joy of being born in the world (John 16:21).

Mankind can survive when a woman gives birth. It’s the same with Christian ministry. Unless new Christians are born, Christianity and the church will not survive. We are filled with joy when one person believes in Jesus and is reborn through prayer and hard work.

Then God said to Adam (verses 17-19). That is, the man suffered from labor. The land was cursed by sinning at Eve’s invitation, and people suffered for the rest of their lives and had to work with sweat on their faces. Labor itself has existed before the fall, and working is God’s will. However, before the fall, the land was not cursed, so I think it was possible to produce a surprising amount with a little labor. I think it was the productivity that modern people envy. So I can imagine that labor was not painful but fun.

Spiritual death had already been brought to the sinners of Adam, but physical death was also brought to them as a punishment for their sins (verse 19). Jesus said. ” My Father has been working to this day, so I am also working. ” (John 5:17) This is our example, and we are required to work as well.

The apostle Paul writes. Also, as we have commanded, aim to live a calm life, get into your work, and work with your own hands. This is to be able to behave well to the outsiders and not to be scarce. (1 Thessalonians 4:11)

It can be said that a person’s personality is formed, especially through marriage and work. They are important lessons that follow the learning of student life and can be called a new school. God is interested in our personality and character. May we be transformed into the image of Christ more and more. We are all transformed from glory to glory in the same way as the Lord, with the cover of the face removed, reflecting the glory of the Lord like a mirror. This is exactly due to the work of the Lord the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
