1 Now, of all the beasts of the field created by the Lord God, the snake was the most cunning. The snake said to the woman. “Did God really say that you should not eat from any tree in the garden?” 2 The woman said to the serpent. “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden. 3 But about the fruit from the tree in the center of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it. Do not touch it, or you will die. ” (Genesis 3: 1-3)
The snake represents the devil. Just like a lamb represents Jesus Christ. The next day, John saw Jesus coming to him and said. “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” (John 1:29) This is what John’s Revelation says. Now, a battle broke out in heaven, and Michael and his angels fought the dragon. So the dragon and his messengers responded, but couldn’t win, and there was no longer a place for them in heaven. Thus, this giant dragon, called the devil or Satan, was thrown down, the sieving snake that misleads the whole world. He was thrown to the ground, and his messengers were thrown with him. (Revelation 12: 7-9)
It can be said that the snake is not the devil, but the devil used the snake. The snake spoke because the devil was inside the snake. In Hebrew, the word cunning doesn’t necessarily mean bad. However, it can be said that the cunning of the snake was used by the devil. Eve did not hear the command directly from God. She just heard from Adam. God said when only Adam. The Lord God commanded man. “You may eat at will from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When you take it and eat it, you will surely die.” (Genesis 2:16,17) God did not speak to Adam and Eve, but only to Adam. When Adam received this order, Eve had not yet been created.
Eve only heard from Adam and knew God’s command, and unlike Adam who heard God’s word directly, she was less perceived. The devil would have aimed there. The devil chooses Eve over Adam and speaks to Eve.

The snake was cursed and began to dig into the earth (Genesis 3:14), but before that it can be imagined that it was a beautiful creature with legs. The devil does not seduce people in a terrifying appearance. If so, Eve would have been scared and fled. The devil cleverly seduces us humans. Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).
“Did God really say that you should not eat from any tree in the garden?” (Verse 1), and the way the devil asks Eve is also insidious. I think this is implicitly trying to give the impression that God is a stingy person. But in reality, God said, ” You can eat whatever you want from any tree in the garden ” (Genesis 2:16). He just told except for one. But do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When you take it and eat it, you will surely die(Genesis 2:17) .
Eve has begun a conversation with the devil (verse 2). Here is the cause of Eve’s failure. She should have prayed to God and asked for help and guidance. Also, if she consulted with her husband Adam, this might not have happened. However, Eve decided on her own and argued with the snake. The woman said to the serpent. “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden. But about the fruit from the tree in the center of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it. Do not touch it, or you will die. ”(verse 2,3)
Here Eve is making some mistakes. God forbade only the tree of knowledge of good and evil out of the two trees in the center of the garden (Genesis 2:17, 3: 3). God said ” when you eat of it you surely die ” (2:17) ,but she said the words “you will die ” (verse 3) She discount the words, she thought lightly .. Bible says. Do not add to the words I command you. Also, it should not be reduced. You must keep the command of the LORD your God, which I command you. (Deuteronomy 4: 2)
The devil has seduced Eve, but we will have to know that devil are still working to seduce us and destroy our lives. The best example is Jesus Christ. The devil also tempted Jesus (Matthew 4: 1-11), but failed to seduce the second Adam, Jesus. Jesus has won the temptation of the devil. How did he win? By the Words of the Bible. He quoted the words of the Old Testament, saying, “The Bible says,” and defeated the devil. Jesus never argued with the devil. Because the devil is a guru. Eve failed in that regard. As Jesus was reading and studying the Old Testament, the Word immediately came to his mind and came out of his mouth. By reading and listening to the Words of the Bible, we too can reject the temptation of the devil by accumulating, reciting, confessing, and proclaiming the Word of God. This is the secret to victory.
